Second thing, it seems like the people have voted to make the limit above $20.  That means there are no limits to the price of the gift that people can give as a secret santa gift.  I would like to suggest that we keep it under $50.  It would not be fair for someone to get a really good gift and someone to not get a really good gift.  Since we are not all rich people please don't go too crazy.

The secret santa gift giving will start on Friday the 2nd of January when I treat the team out to have a feast.  Everyone is invited to that feast even if you never play.

Roster Clean Up!

Okay this morning, I've decided to clean up the roster list on this here blog.  I eliminated all the guys that are not part of Bonus Points.  Also, added a FAGs list for guys that don't usually play.

CAL Season 2 Recap

Wow, its been a week after CAL season ended.  I'm still trying to remember all the things that have happened.  First off congrats to everyone for a wonderful season.  Well played guys!!!   We actually finished a season for once.  =)   Actually we finished two!  (6s and 8s) But, ehh who's counting.   We ended up being 3-5 for 6 vs 6 and 3-5 for 8 vs 8.  Although, I wouldn't count the 8 vs 8 victories since both were against TLD and we had a forfeit win against xclan.  We did find annie along the way.  =)  Haha, I think that was the best thing out of our CAL season.  Now we've got a pro medic.   

The 6 vs 6 wasn't bad I have to say.  We were within grasp of playoffs, but faltered in the big matches.  The one match against dejavu destroyed our chances.  Next season, we'll be back at it.  Maybe we'll make play offs for CAL.  Now lets move on, and look at the UGC, CEVO, CGS leagues!

Loss Against Dejavu!

Yesterday, we had a CAL 6 vs 6 match against Dejavu on cp_granary.  It was a strange match in which we were destroyed.  I felt like we could've done a lot better if we had did some more practice in teamwork especially the main guys (Soldiers).  Teamwork issues really messes us up.  Its either one guy doesn't feel it or anyother guy having a bad day.  Mmmm.  Well, we tried hard.  There more matches down the line to look forward to.  I really thought we could've done a lot better.  It was like a big test and getting a big F.  Mmmm we'll do better next time.  I'm undetered and very confident in this team.  We'll get there...  We have excellent members and I enjoy playing very much.

First League Win!!!!!!

Wow! Yesterday, July 22, 2008 Bonus Points record its first real win (not forfeit win) in history!  The score was 7-5 against BS! after two 20min halves in the map cp_fastlane.   It was glorious!  The game, however, started rather melancholy...during the first half.  It seemed rather ho-hum as we were once again being thrashed by a team that we knew we could at least put up a fight against.  We didn't know what was the reason for our dissapointing first half.  BS! captured and captured, point after points.  By the end of the first half, the score was 4-1 in favor of BS!  After a 5 min break and the switching of sides, we decided that some changes were to be made.  Holo switched to medic and Minigun switch to Heavy (his class) and things started rocking!  Whoo!  Now it was our turn to capture and capture, point after points.  Wow we couldn't believe it.  When it was all said and done the second half ended being 6-1 in favor of us!  Things weren't just a cakewalk though, BS! put up a galantl fight when the score was 3-1 and when we needed just one more point to bring the match to a tie.  But in the end, Bonus Points triumphed and we took home the victory.  

I have to say our scouts were outstanding yesterday as well as Minigun, Holo, and Phil.  I however, did not bring my "A" game and did considerably below my own standard and I felt like I just needed to get back to the drawing board.

With that aside, good game everyone!  Lets go get the next one!

6 vs 6 ideal roster

Okay...I did some thinking and I've come up with an ideal 6 vs 6 roster that we should field for 6 vs 6 matches.  The roster is as follows:

1. Illumina64 (Soldier)
2. Cylent (Demoman)
3. Athrun (Scout/Pryo)
4. Holo (Spy/Medic/Soldier)
5. Philwtfffff (Sniper)
6. Colbert (Scout) [cp_well] / My Minigun Is Mabel (Heavy) [cp_gravelpit] / LasdAaronChen (Medic) [cp_badlands]

Yeah this is our best roster from what I've seen so far.  It may change in the future.  The sixth man will rotate depending on map, so far there are only three maps that I've seen the guys in.  Any comments or suggestions please tell me thanks.  Also 8 vs 8 will not have a roster because we'll have a lot of flexiblity and I want to use everyone.

Long Time No Post

Wow I haven't posted in many months.  I have to admit, I was too lazy =) hahaha.  Okay I will try to post more now.  Anyway many things have happened the last couple months.  Our team actually won and we got a couple new members to name a few.  Anyhoo the major thing is we're starting two new campaigns so we'll see what happens now.

Scrim Sat?

I'm planning for the team to scrim on Saturday.  Hopefully we can win some this time.  We'll do 6 vs 6, but if everyone's on we can maybe try some 8 vs 8s.   We should practice on badlands especially since its the preseason map.  Also, we should discuss some of our strats and determine which of us should play on the starting 6.

Pacific Omega

We're in the Pacific Omega Division of CAL.  Right now, the best teams in my opinion are Wreck and Sorry Ass Clan.  Wreck is a CEVO-P team and Sorry Ass Clan has a 5-3 record in CEVO-A.  I would think wreck will will this Division easily and Sorry Ass Clan will place second.  However third place is up for grabs.  I have never heard of any of the other team.  I think if we shape up, we can definately win third and contest for second.

CAL

So far CAL hasn't responded to my inquiry about the preseason game, so I'll attempt to contact someone at CAL to see if we'll get to play our preseason wk2 game at cp_badlands.  Chances are, we'll probably get to play the game.

CAL Situation

Right now it seems unlikely that we'll have a match today. I have emailed CAL to find out what is happening. Hopefully next week we'll be assigned an opponent so we can at least play a preseason game.  We will definately scrim alot before the season officially starts on the 18th.

CAL Match tommorrow?

According to CAL the preseason starts tomorrow.  It should be played on cp_warpath and it'll be at the default time of 8:30pm pst.  However, matchcomm doesn't not work and it does not show any match for our team.  Well, its only preseason.  Hopefully everything works out.  The CAL rules aren't too specific as to how everything should be set up so yeah.  More to come.

Never give away private info

As a general precaution, never give away any private info to anybody that asks. Especially by a very unsecure channel such as email. Keep this in mind. I know it is common sense, but sometimes we all make bonehead mistakes.

Do NOT respond to steam validation email!!!!!!!

As per BP-LASDAaronChen, please do not respond to steam validation email if you have received it. It is a scam to steal your steam info. The email is from steam validation, however, as Aaron pointed out, its a hotmail account which does not make sense. Why would steam use a hotmail account? And why would they ask you for your id/pass/email?

Thursday Night we lost to Killing as an Organized Sport.  It was a rout but I thought it was the closest game we've played.  Killing as an Organized Sport was a good team and hats off to them for the victory.

Sorry for the late post...Bonus-Points lost to Delectable Meats on Wednesday night.  The score was 4-0 in favor of Delectable Meats.  I have to say though, the team is getting a little bit better.  It was only our 2 match so I didn't expect us to win.  Hats off to Delectable Meats, they were a good team and they were good people.

Old Hat Server

I've talked to the Old Hat guys yesterday and I have confirmed that the game is on Thursday at 8:30 and we are playing the game on their server.  Be prepared, Old Hat seems to be a pretty good team.

Preseason Match

We have our only preseason match against old hat on thursday the 10th at 8:30 pdt.  Hopefully this preseason match will be a win for us.  Even if we don't win it will give us a better idea of where we stand as a team.
